POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Strategic Sourcing Manager oversees all procurement activities for City of Industry. Responsible for overseeing, selecting and purchasing quality products including electronic components to include, but not limited to, negotiating with and developing supplier relationships, tracking orders, reviewing inventory levels, forecasting, quality assurance and liaising with inventory teams and management. Additionally, the position drives continuous improvement across all procurement-related functions including controlling costs, ensuring on-time delivery, and implementing effective inventory strategies. Key internal partners include Operations, R&D Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering and RCI.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES - The following outlines the primary duties and responsibilities associated with this position; however, it is not an exhaustive list.   • Direct and manage daily purchasing operations carried out by buyers and purchasing agents.
  • Proactively take appropriate action to avoid shortages, out of stock material, back orders and mitigate material lead-time increases.
  • Evaluate obsolete materials and inform Management of the supplier suggestive alternatives. Request estimates where appropriate and negotiate costs based on current standard cost.
  • Make recommendations on forecasts, utilizing existing market trends and data analysis to effectively plan purchase releases while being cost efficient.
  • Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the effectiveness of planning and purchasing functions.
  • Collaborate closely with plant leadership to align procurement and planning efforts with operational needs.
  • Continuously review performance metrics and process outcomes to identify improvement opportunities and implement corrective actions.
  • Create and execute resource optimization plans to ensure efficient use of materials, equipment, and personnel.
  • Partner with the corporate sourcing team to maintain regulatory compliance across all site operations. Ensure all procurement and planning activities comply with company policies and applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
