Title: Strategic Sourcing Specialist
Location: Shoreview, MN
Hire Type: Direct Hire

Compensation: $100-120K yrly

Overview:

Join a fast-growing engineering and automation organization supporting cutting-edge medical device, life sciences, and advanced manufacturing technologies. We are seeking a highly strategic sourcing professional to partner closely with engineering and operations teams to drive supplier strategy, cost optimization, and supply chain scalability for complex new product development programs.
This is a high-impact role where you will influence sourcing decisions early in the design cycle, develop strong global supplier partnerships, and help bring innovative products to market.


Job Duties:  

  • Lead strategic sourcing initiatives for New Product Development (NPD/NPI) programs
  • Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Project Management teams
  • Influence design-for-manufacturability, cost reduction, and supplier selection strategies
  • Identify, evaluate, and develop suppliers for precision components, materials, and manufacturing processes
  • Negotiate supplier agreements balancing quality, innovation, delivery, and cost
  • Drive total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis and lifecycle cost management
  • Support supplier qualification, performance management, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Develop scalable sourcing strategies while mitigating supply chain risk
  • Serve as a key escalation point for supplier and procurement-related challenges

Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field
  • 10+ years of strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain experience within:
    • Medical Device
    • Life Sciences
    • Automation
    • Precision Manufacturing
    • Complex Engineered Products
  • Strong experience supporting New Product Development (NPD/NPI) environments
  • Deep understanding of manufacturing processes, supplier qualification, and technical sourcing
  • Proven negotiation and supplier relationship management skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment
  • Experience with ERP systems and strong Excel skills
  • APICS (CPIM/CSCP) or CPSM certifications preferred
  • Experience with global sourcing strongly preferred
