Job Summary / Purpose


Provides analytical support for business development planning projects/studies /processes of a quantitative and qualitative nature across the assigned Region through researching, organizing, analyzing, interpreting, and synthesizing and presenting complex data from a wide variety of sources. Work is performed in support of planning and decision-making on significant business development opportunities and system initiative. Provides analytical support to the assigned Region's Chief Strategy Officer and administrative leadership team under the guidance of the System VP of Strategic Intelligence to meet local and system-wide strategic planning and business development requirements.


Essential Functions


+ Conducts ongoing healthcare analyses relating to demographics, demand, competition, and growth opportunities in support of system-wide and region/service line-specific business development and strategic planning. Provides analysis of external and internal data sources and develops related presentations to support senior- level decision-making. Runs complex analyses, forecasts and data models.

+ Participates in special research, data gathering, analytical and other project support/ planning as needed to promote strategic planning, business development and growth for the region and associated markets.

+ Synthesizes and presents analytical findings, key insights and key recommendations to small and large group forums both verbally and in written formats. Produce presentations, reports, maps, graphs and other visual displays.

+ Provides support in the execution of assigned special projects related to new planning developments, regulatory requirements and strategic planning initiatives including but not limited to Certificate of Need, Network Integrity assessments, business plans and special ad hoc projects.

+ Shares initiatives across markets and with peers in other Regions to share best practices.


Qualifications


Education and Experience:


+ Bachelors business or healthcare administration, or other related discipline

+ 1 year related experience, with an understanding of general strategy, marketing and planning needs, and healthcare trends


Knowledge, Skills and Training:


+ Demonstrated ability: Appropriately prioritize projects of varying complexity and with competing deadlines.

+ Work independently with little to no supervision under any and all situations. Independent decision making and problem- solving capabilities in project planning and data analysis.

+ Strong written and verbal communication skills; solid written and verbal presenter of analytic findings and other deliverables Diplomacy, tact and professionalism in interpersonal contacts.

+ Ability to collect and organize complex data, understand/interpret its significance/application and produce accurate/timely reports and presentation-ready materials designed to fully inform and influence decision-making processes.

+ Flexibility and organization to respond to changing priorities, deadlines and multiple simultaneous project responsibilities.

+ Ability to maintain accurate, up-to-date and effective databases.

+ Ability to regularly update supervisor regarding status of projects and request direction/approval.

+ Working knowledge of, and ability to use, Microsoft Excel and interactive database tools to complete analyses.

+ Additional knowledge of: Statistical and analytical techniques; Strategic planning principles and practices; Market research, including survey development and analysis

+ Software tools: including Data analysis (Microsoft Excel) – expert level; Word processing – proficient; Data Base (Power BI) - entry level; Mapping – entry level; Presentations proficient;

+ Ability to use relational data sets/ tools such as Sg2 and claims data sets; and Cost Accounting systems
