Position Description
ENTRY SALARY
STREETS & SIDEWALKS TECH I: $44,148.12
STREETS & SIDEWALKS TECH II: $48,673.30
STREETS & SIDEWALKS TECH III: $53,662.26
CURRENT RECRUITMENT OPEN UNTIL FILLED
Under limited supervision, the Lead Streets & Sidewalks Technician performs advanced skilled work in the installation, construction, renovation, modification, maintenance, and repair of streets, sidewalks, asphalt patch installation, retaining walls, headwalls, and irrigation.

Minimum Qualifications

Licenses, Certifications, and Equipment:
A valid State driver's license is required.
Does this position require a Commercial Driver's License? Yes
Type: Obtain and maintain Restricted Class A (No Tractor/Trailer) CDL permit within three (3) months of hire date & obtain and maintain Restricted Class A (No Tractor) CDL with necessary endorsements based on area of assignment within nine (9) months of hire date.
Education and Experience:
Minimum Tenth grade education AND one (1) year of experience as a semi-skilled laborer in a maintenance or construction field; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Streets & Sidewalk Tech II
Licenses, Certifications, and Equipment:
A valid State driver's license is required.
Obtain and maintain Florida Department of Transportation Temporary Traffic Control (FDOT TTC) within six (6) months of hire date.
Does this position require a Commercial Driver's License? Yes
Type: Possession and maintenance of Restricted Class A (No Tractor/Trailer) CDL with necessary endorsements based on area of assignment is required.
The employee must be able to demonstrate equipment operation and have a good working knowledge of the equipment. Basic computer skills for communicating via email and for utilizing the Citys intranet system and GIS to obtain information is highly desirable and is a necessary skill to learn prior to qualifying for internal promotional opportunities.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma, High School Equivalency Diploma, G.E.D. Certificate OR Completion of the apprentice program PLUS one (1) year of experience as a semi-skilled laborer in a maintenance or construction field; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
Streets & Sidewalk Tech III
Licenses, Certifications, and Equipment:
A valid State driver's license is required.
