Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Structural and Mechanical Technician to join our engineering and maintenance team. This role involves performing precise mechanical and structural tasks on complex aerospace, military, or aviation equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards such as AS9100 and Federal Aviation Regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in CAD software, manufacturing processes, and electrical systems, contributing to the safe and efficient operation of aircraft, vehicles, or related equipment. Major Duties and Responsibilities
· Interpret and work from engineering drawings, mechanical prints, and assembly documentation.
· Deburr, polish, and finish sheet metal and machined components to required specifications.
· Perform mechanical and structural assembly, including hardware stack-ups, fastener installation, and alignment.
· Use hand tools, pneumatic tools, and precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges).
· Support fabrication tasks such as part prep, fit-up, and basic forming or cutting operations.
· Conduct in-process inspections to verify dimensional accuracy and workmanship.
· Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas in compliance with AS9100 and environmental requirements.
· Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to resolve build issues and ensure product conformity.
Minimum Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· 1–3 years mechanical assembly, fabrication, or related hands-on manufacturing experience.
· Strong mechanical mindset with the ability to interpret drawings and understand dimensional requirements.
· Experience deburring, polishing, and preparing sheet metal or machined parts.
· Proficiency using hand tools, pneumatic tools, and precision measuring instruments.
· Ability to perform hardware stack-ups, fastener installation, and mechanical alignment.
· Ability to lift 35–50 lbs. and perform physical tasks associated with fabrication and assembly.
· Ability to work under AS9100, ITAR, and CUI requirements (training provided).
· Experience in aerospace, defense, or precision manufacturing environments.
· Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), tolerance stack-ups, and mechanical fit-up.
· Experience with laser-cut parts, press-brake-formed components, or thermal-setting plastics.
· Ability to perform basic troubleshooting and recommend corrective actions.
