Structural Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities
Create structural plans, designs, computer analyses, calculations, and drawing reviews in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
Analyze reports, drawings, blueprints, tests, and related documentation to plan and design projects.
Use computer-assisted engineering and design software to prepare engineering documents and calculations.
Participate in and lead design coordination meetings with project consultants and clients.
Manage projects and project teams as experience develops.
Assist with training and development of junior engineers.
Conduct field reviews and structural observations.
Review shop drawings, contractor requests, and RFIs.
Work with experienced engineers and mentors on a wide range of building projects.

Required Qualifications
3+ years of structural design experience.
Master’s degree with a specialization in Structural Engineering.
Structural design experience with:
Post-tensioned concrete
Reinforced concrete
Wood
Masonry
Structural steel
Strong technical understanding of seismic design principles and structural dynamics.
Working knowledge of the California Building Code and relevant standards, including:
AISC
ACI
NDS
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to manage projects, priorities, and deadlines.
P.E. license required, with active progress toward S.E. licensure.
Ability to accurately read and interpret structural drawings and plans.
