Description
As a Design Engineer for Contech’s mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) precast product line, you will be part of a high‑performing team responsible for delivering innovative, reliable, and customer‑centric engineering solutions for our MSE wall system product portfolio. About the Role:
Perform engineering analysis and design of MSE wall systems, including global stability, internal stability, external stability, and connection design. Consult with outside engineering firms as needed.
Provide design support, specifications, solution development, installation guidance, and project‑cycle problem‑solving for our internal sales team, clients, and customers.
Build strong relationships with project managers, geotechnical engineers, civil engineers, contractors, operations teams, and QA/QC personnel to ensure project success.
Communicate key metrics, recommendations, and technical insights to senior leadership.
Contribute to process improvements, strategic initiatives, and the development of tools that enhance engineering efficiency and accuracy.
Collaborate with plant managers, clerks, project managers on project status updates and product specifications, testing, and improvements.
Manage outside client/customer projects through all stages; take-off, submittal, preconstruction meetings, field resolution and installation support as needed.
Review drawings and calculations for quality, accuracy, and compliance with engineering intent and applicable standards.
Respond to field inquiries and coordinate timely, practical solutions that support both customer needs and business objectives.
Manage State DOT approvals, QPL, APL, as required for Vist-A-Wall precast and wire walls.
Maintain working knowledge of relevant codes and standards: AASHTO, FHWA MSE wall design guidance, ASCE 7, ACI, and other applicable specifications.
Qualifications:
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering strongly preferred.
Minimum of 2-years of relevant work experience.
Related engineering degree and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
Proficiency in AutoCAD.
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with CRM or related project management databases.
Excellent problem-solving and time-management skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data management tools.
Ability to travel up to 10%.
Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain PE license preferred.
Strong understanding of civil site plans and technical specifications.
