    As a  Design Engineer for Contech’s mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) precast product line, you will be part of a high‑performing team responsible for delivering innovative, reliable, and customer‑centric engineering solutions for our MSE wall system product portfolio.     About the Role:

    • Perform engineering analysis and design of MSE wall systems, including global stability, internal stability, external stability, and connection design.  Consult with outside engineering firms as needed. 
    • Provide design support, specifications, solution development, installation guidance, and project‑cycle problem‑solving for our internal sales team, clients, and customers. 
    • Build strong relationships with project managers, geotechnical engineers, civil engineers, contractors, operations teams, and QA/QC personnel to ensure project success.
    • Communicate key metrics, recommendations, and technical insights to senior leadership.
    • Contribute to process improvements, strategic initiatives, and the development of tools that enhance engineering efficiency and accuracy.
    • Collaborate with plant managers, clerks, project managers on project status updates and product specifications, testing, and improvements.
    • Manage outside client/customer projects through all stages; take-off, submittal, preconstruction meetings, field resolution and installation support as needed. 
    • Review drawings and calculations for quality, accuracy, and compliance with engineering intent and applicable standards.
    • Respond to field inquiries and coordinate timely, practical solutions that support both customer needs and business objectives.
    • Manage State DOT approvals, QPL, APL, as required for Vist-A-Wall precast and wire walls. 
    • Maintain working knowledge of relevant codes and standards: AASHTO, FHWA MSE wall design guidance, ASCE 7, ACI, and other applicable specifications.

    Qualifications:

    Required

    • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering strongly preferred.
    • Minimum of 2-years of relevant work experience.
    • Related engineering degree and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD.
    • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
    • Familiarity with CRM or related project management databases.
    • Excellent problem-solving and time-management skills.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data management tools.
    • Ability to travel up to 10%.
    • Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain PE license preferred.
    • Strong understanding of civil site plans and technical specifications.
