Structural Designer/Drafter

Martin & Wallin LLC is seeking a Structural Designer/Drafter to support engineering projects and deliver accurate, build-ready structural drawings in a collaborative environment.

Position Summary

The Structural Designer/Drafter will assist with the preparation, modification, and quality control of structural design documentation for a variety of projects. This role focuses on translating engineering direction into clear drawing sets while ensuring that documentation is consistent, accurate, and compliant with applicable standards.

Working in a hybrid capacity in Cedar Park, TX, you will collaborate with engineers and other stakeholders to refine details, respond to design changes, and maintain strong documentation practices throughout each project phase.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce and revise structural drawings and related documentation based on engineering direction and project requirements.

• Coordinate drawing updates to reflect design changes, field feedback, and internal review comments.

• Ensure drawings are organized, properly labeled, and aligned with project standards for clarity and accuracy.

• Assist with plan set development by preparing sheets, details, schedules, and supporting documentation as needed.

• Support quality control by verifying completeness, consistency across views, and adherence to drafting conventions.

Required Qualifications

• Experience creating and revising structural drawings with strong attention to detail.

• Proficiency in interpreting engineering concepts and converting them into accurate drafting documentation.

• Solid understanding of drawing standards, documentation practices, and sheet organization.

• Ability to manage multiple deliverables and meet project deadlines in a collaborative setting.

• Clear communication skills and the ability to incorporate feedback from engineers and internal stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with structural detailing practices for building or civil-related projects.

• Experience supporting plan sets through review cycles and responding to comments efficiently.

• Demonstrated ability to work independently while maintaining accuracy and version control.

• Knowledge of common construction documentation expectations and deliverable quality benchmarks.
