Structural Drafter

Burgess Construction Consultants, Inc. is seeking a highly qualified Structural Drafter to join our engineering team. This position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of residential, multi-family, retail, and light commercial projects while contributing to a collaborative, high-performing organization.The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, sound judgment, and a commitment to delivering quality drafting solutions.

Key Responsibilities·        

• Prepare structural construction documents from architectural plans
• Produce master plans, address-specific plans, options, revisions, and mirrored plan sets.
• Coordinate with engineers to incorporate design revisions and redlines.
• Maintain drafting standards while ensuring accuracy and consistency across all plan sets
• Assist with permit-ready drawing packages and support engineering project schedules.

Qualifications

Experience

• 5 years of experience drafting structural plans for production homebuilders.
• Experience with post-tension foundation design, IRC residential construction, and permit ready structural plan production is required.   Along with extensive experience preparing residential foundation plans, framing plan, and shear wall/wind bracing plans

Technical Skills

• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, or comparable drafting software
• Knowledge of spreadsheets, databases, and word processing software including Microsoft Office, Gmail and Google Docs

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Self-starter with willingness to interact as a team player

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work at a computer for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds as needed
• Ability to travel to meetings
