DPP is seeking a Structural Engineer 3 for an opportunity with our client in the Aerospace & Defense Manufacturing industry.
Work location: Onsite in Chandler, AZ Work schedule: 9x80 A shift Duration: 12 months Terms: W2 contract Work authorization: US Citizen; must be eligible to obtain and maintain a US Government secret security clearance
Responsibilities:
Structural Engineer 3 will support the Mechanical and Energetics department.
As a member of the M&E department, you’ll get to work alongside a dynamic team performing structural analysis on launch vehicles and ground support components.
Analyze damage tolerance, durability, design allowables and structural modeling.
Specific structural engineering specialties may include dynamics and loads, stability and stress fatigue and thermal analysis.
Tools will include NX CAD software and FEA.
Basic qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with a minimum of 5 years related engineering experience;
OR Master’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with a minimum of 3 years related engineering experience;
OR Ph.D. degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with 1 year of experience
Must be able to obtain/maintain a US Government Secret security clearance, or higher
Strong structural analysis background with demonstrated work experience and knowledge
Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications
Computer skills with standard word processing/spreadsheet experience
Ability to listen effectively, take direction, and possess initiative to accomplish assigned tasks and complete work in a timely fashion
Preferred qualifications:
MS, or PhD in related field
Active US Government Secret security clearance, or higher at the time of application
Experience working with high-performance flight structures
FEMAP, NX NASTRAN finite element analysis software
ANSYS, ABAQUS, and other software package experience also considered
Research and experience working with high temperatures, and effects in structural mechanics
Thermal loading, advanced high temperature materials, structural responses, and development testing
Working knowledge of CMC material systems
Scripting and AI use in fields of engineering and data sciences
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
