Position Overview
Our client is seeking a Structural Engineer Aerospace & Industrial to join their team in Dallas, TX. This position will support the design and execution of structural systems for complex aerospace, industrial, manufacturing, government, military, and other facility projects.
The Structural Engineer will work closely with multidisciplinary project teams throughout the design and construction process, developing structural solutions that meet project requirements, applicable codes, budget constraints, and client needs.
Responsibilities
- Perform structural engineering and design from conceptual development through final design and construction.
- Design structural systems and components for aerospace, industrial, manufacturing, government, military, power, process, and other complex facilities.
- Prepare and review structural calculations, design documents, specifications, and construction drawings.
- Modify and review production drawings to ensure compliance with project requirements and engineering standards.
- Apply structural engineering principles, design practices, codes, and industry standards to project designs.
- Coordinate structural requirements with architects, engineers, designers, project managers, and other disciplines.
- Research and compile technical and project-related information as required.
- Review shop drawings, submittals, and other construction documentation.
- Support contract administration and construction-phase engineering activities.
- Perform field inspections, measurements, assessments, and calculations for new and existing facilities.
- Verify drawing revisions and design corrections using CAD and BIM software.
- Assist with preparation of technical information and materials for client presentations.
- Maintain accuracy and quality throughout the design and documentation process.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited program with 3+ years of structural engineering experience; OR
- Bachelor's degree in Structural or related Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited program, successful completion of the FE exam, and 3+ years of structural engineering experience; OR
- Master's degree in Structural Engineering with 2+ years of structural engineering experience.
- Strong knowledge of structural engineering principles, analysis methods, design techniques, codes, and procedures.
- Experience designing structural systems for industrial, manufacturing, aerospace, government, military, or similar complex facilities preferred.
- Proficiency with structural analysis and design software such as RISA 3D, ETABS, and SAFE.
- Experience with AutoCAD and BIM platforms such as Revit and Tekla.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and critical-thinking abilities.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred.
