Structural Engineer (5-10 Years Experience)

Position Overview
A well-established multidisciplinary architecture and engineering firm is seeking a Structural Engineer with 5-10 years of experience to join its growing structural team. This individual will be responsible for the design, analysis, and documentation of building structural systems across a wide range of project types.
The role requires strong technical ability, collaboration skills, and experience working in a consulting environment supporting architects, engineers, and other design professionals. Projects include commercial, educational, healthcare, industrial, and public sector buildings throughout PA, NY, and NJ.

Key Responsibilities


Design structural systems using steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and wood construction


Develop foundation plans, framing plans, structural details, and construction drawings


Perform structural analysis and calculations for building systems


Produce construction documents using AutoCAD and Revit


Utilize structural engineering software such as Bentley Systems tools, Enercalc, and PCA software


Review shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals for structural compliance


Conduct existing building surveys and site investigations as needed


Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, interior designers, and external consultants


Support construction administration throughout project lifecycle





Preferred Qualifications


Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred


Experience working on commercial, institutional, healthcare, or educational projects


Strong BIM coordination and Revit production experience


Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment



Working Conditions


Full-time onsite role in Clarks Summit, PA office


Hybrid flexibility with optional remote Fridays


Standard office hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM


Occasional regional travel for site visits, client meetings, and existing building surveys (typically day trips, occasionally overnight)

Bachelor"s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program

5-10 years of structural engineering experience focused on building design in a consulting environment

Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit, including development of construction documents and coordination drawings

Strong understanding of structural design principles for steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and wood buildings
