Join to apply for the Structural Engineer (Entry Level) role at TAS Energy .DescriptionPOSITION OVERVIEW:As a Structural Engineer focusing on modular solutions, you will design, analyze, and oversee the construction of structures and systems. Your main duties include ensuring TAS products meet safety, regulatory, and performance standards. You will collaborate with design, manufacturing, and installation teams to deliver high-quality modular products that are structurally sound and fit for purpose. Typical products include data center infrastructure such as data halls and electrical modules, utility infrastructure like chiller plants, cooling towers, and central utility plants, along with foundation designs for various jobsite conditions as specified by customers. You will work closely with Project Engineers, Project Managers, Draftsmen/Designers, service engineers, and field technicians. The Structural Engineer handles all structural engineering and design functions, including preparing customer and fabrication drawings. This position reports to the Director of Engineering.Key Job ResponsibilitiesDevelop and analyze structural designs for modular equipment, including steel frames, supports, foundations, and connections.Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate structural elements with other systems.Use engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit) to create detailed drawings and simulations.Conduct structural analysis using finite element methods (FEM) to ensure modular units' integrity under various loading conditions.Evaluate materials and construction methods to optimize structural performance and cost-effectiveness.Coordinate with manufacturing to ensure designs are feasible for production and assembly.Perform site visits to ensure designs are feasible for production, transportation, and operation.Exercise independent judgment and evaluation.Supervise engineers, designers, and technicians as needed.Review and approve drawings, specifications, and project documentation, including coordinating with manufacturers' prints.Stay updated on new techniques in civil/structural engineering and modular construction.Participate in studies, specifications, proposal evaluations, and estimates development.Engage in R&D to develop new modular systems and improve existing designs.Perform other duties as assigned by TAS.Job SkillsKnowledge of ASCE, AISC, IBC, and other codes is a plus.Positive, proactive attitude.Ability to manage multiple customer needs.Proficiency in technical writing and documentation.Education & TrainingBachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited program.Ability to perform own design and drafting, and communicate with subordinate designers and drafters.Minimum RequirementsBachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil or Structural).Excellent communication skills for collaboration.Preferred RequirementsMaster's degree.Interest in pursuing a PE license.Experience with engineering software like Stru-cad, STAAD-Pro, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, and Excel.Physical Requirements/Work EnvironmentMajority of work is at a desk using a computer. Ability to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally. Capable of performing physical activities including sitting, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
