Structural Engineer Contract-to-Hire

We are seeking a skilled Structural Engineer for a contract-to-hire opportunity supporting complex industrial and advanced facility projects in the Houston area. As part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will contribute to structural analysis, design development, and coordination efforts while working closely with engineers, designers, and project stakeholders. Key Responsibilities

• Perform structural engineering analysis and design for steel and concrete structures
• Support the development of structural design concepts and construction documentation
• Conduct lateral analysis and design for wind and seismic loading in accordance with applicable building codes
• Apply engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to a wide range of project assignments
• Collaborate with structural leads, designers, and other engineering disciplines to ensure coordinated project execution
• Review and check calculations and engineering work prepared by peers
• Maintain strong attention to detail and quality control throughout all phases of design
• Manage assigned workload to meet project schedules, budgets, and deliverable requirements
• Identify scope changes and communicate project impacts to leadership
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers
• Support continuous improvement initiatives, workflows, and emerging technologies within the structural discipline
• Participate in occasional field walks and site assessments as needed

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering
• Professional Engineer (PE) License
• Minimum 4 years of structural engineering experience
• Strong knowledge of U.S. building codes and standards including:
  • IBC
  • ASCE 7
  • ACI
  • AISC
• Experience with structural analysis and engineering software tools
• Proficiency with Navisworks and Bluebeam
• Experience designing traditional steel and reinforced concrete structures
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with Structural emphasis
• Experience supporting semiconductor, industrial, or advanced manufacturing facilities
• Experience leading small engineering teams or mentoring junior staff
