Short DescriptionBowman has an opportunity for a Structural Engineer I to join our team in Lacey or Seattle, WA.PurposePerform the design and provide engineering services as they relate to transportation structures and/or other structural projects.ResponsibilitiesLeadership and Direction: Receive general instruction on key objectives, work is completed using standard engineering techniques and design principles, reviewed by senior staff.At The Operational And Company Level: Work closely with senior members to learn civil engineering work.Do the Work: Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, complete design work using computer aided software, assist with reports, bridge inspections, prepare/review plans, technical specifications, contract documents, estimates.Success Metrics and CompetenciesAbility to work independently and within a team.Highly motivated and problem‑solving attitude.Strong sense of urgency in responding to constituents.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Strong work ethic and commitment to quality.Self‑reliance and ability to operate independently with limited direction.Effective working relationship with internal leaders, peers, and external clients.Ability to manage multiple time‑sensitive tasks.Data analysis and interpretation skills.QualificationsBachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering or related discipline required at time of employment.Entry level position, no prior experience required; previous engineering experience a plus.E.I.T. registration preferred.Experience with computer applications and design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, STAAD, and Microsoft Office.Proficient in reading construction plans and technical writing.Working knowledge of AISC-360, ACI 318, NDS, IBC, IRC, and ASCE 7.Salary and BenefitsSalary range $76,000 - $97,000, variable compensation commensurate with experience.
