Our client is seeking a talented and motivated Structural Engineer to join their growing design team in Moon Township, PA. This is an exciting contract-to-hire opportunity for a structural engineering professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys contributing to complex engineering projects from concept through execution.

As a Structural Engineer, you will play an integral role in structural analysis and design efforts while working closely with Structural Leads, Engineers, Designers, and multidisciplinary teams. You will help develop design concepts, perform engineering analysis, and ensure structural requirements are accurately incorporated into project documentation and models.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform structural engineering analysis and design for a variety of projects under general supervision
• Apply engineering principles, judgment, and problem-solving skills to develop practical and effective solutions
• Conduct lateral analysis and design for wind and seismic loading in accordance with applicable building codes
• Prepare and review structural calculations, specifications, and technical documentation
• Coordinate structural requirements with multidisciplinary engineering and design teams
• Work closely with designers to communicate structural intent within drawings and models
• Maintain a high level of quality control and attention to detail, including checking your own work and reviewing calculations completed by others
• Manage assigned workload to meet project schedules, budgets, and quality expectations
• Identify potential scope changes and communicate them proactively to project leadership
• Take ownership of assigned project scope, including determining requirements in situations with limited direction
• Provide mentorship, technical guidance, and support to junior engineers and designers
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to workflows, systems, and emerging technologies

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required
• Minimum 4 years of structural engineering experience
• Strong knowledge of U.S. building codes and standards, including:
  • IBC
  • ASCE 7
  • ACI
  • AISC
• Experience with structural engineering analysis and design software
• Experience using Navisworks and Bluebeam
• Experience designing and analyzing steel and concrete structures
• Understanding of structural coordination with other engineering disciplines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills
• Ability to work independently while recognizing when to seek guidance from senior engineers and peers
