 Are you a Structural Engineer with solid experience in wood design and residential projects? Are you organized, methodical, and a strong communicator? One of our Utah-based clients is looking for a Structural Engineer – Wood Design to join their team on a part-time basis, supporting custom single-family home projects across Utah and Arizona. This is a flexible role with availability to work aligned with Mountain Time (MT).

What you’ll do:

  • Prepare structural drawings and details for custom single-family residential projects.

  • Apply wood framing design principles in accordance with NDS / SDPWS standards.

  • Ensure compliance with U.S. building codes, including IBC, IRC, and ASCE/SEI-7.

  • Perform structural analysis and component design using industry-standard tools.

  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously while meeting established deadlines.

  • Coordinate with the team through regular virtual meetings to review progress and priorities.

  • Utilize Revit, AutoCAD, and RISA (Risa3D, RisaFloor, Risa Foundation), and Enercalc when required.

What you must have:

  • 5+ years of experience in structural engineering.

  • Proven experience in residential structural projects, single-family homes.

  • Advanced English level.

  • Strong knowledge of wood design per NDS / SDPWS standards.

  • Familiarity with U.S. building codes such as IBC, IRC, and ASCE/SEI-7.

  • Advanced proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.

  • Experience using RISA software.

  • Experience working on U.S.-based residential projects (preferably in Utah / Arizona).

  • Organized, methodical profile with strong communication skills.

A great plus:

  • Additional experience with Enercalc, Risa3D, RisaFloor, Risa Foundation.
