    Description

    OverviewAs a member of Garver's growing Water Design Center, the Structural Engineer (SE) will develop structural designs for water and wastewater treatment projects and related facilities. The engineer will lead a project team of junior engineers, designers, and technicians to produce plans, specifications, and manage workload on Water Business Line projects.ResponsibilitiesLead a project team producing structural designs for treatment plants, pump stations, lift stations, tanks, vaults, and other ancillary structures.Design treatment process basins, chemical facilities, administration buildings, retaining walls, and supporting structures.Perform structural design calculations, coordinate with other disciplines, regional offices, and regulatory agencies, estimate construction costs, and enforce quality assurance and control.Assist the Structural Group Leader in managing and mentoring teams, coordinating schedules, monitoring budgets, and ensuring timely delivery of high‑quality work products.Travel may be required for site assessments and construction support.Work independently within a multi‑disciplinary team of civil, process, mechanical, electrical, and I&C engineers, designers, and technicians.Manage multiple projects concurrently and uphold time management and work‑product quality standards.Mentor, equip, train, and develop junior team members to take on increasingly complex assignments.RequirementsRegistered Structural Engineer (SE)Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering from an ABET‑accredited programCompetence in concrete, masonry, aluminum, and structural steel designProven experience overseeing structural designs, including detailed plans and specifications for major projectsStrong verbal and written communication skillsStrong teaching and coaching skills to bring new team members up to speedPreferred SkillsWorking knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Revit CAD programsExperience with Bluebeam, MS Office products (Excel, Outlook, Word)Experience collaborating with process, building mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation & control disciplinesActive participation in local professional organizationsAbout Garver's Water Design CenterThe Water Design Center (WDC) is a knowledge‑based hub that excels in highly technical, multi‑disciplinary water and wastewater designs.
