$90,000 - $140,000 per year
Your Day-to-Day
Design structural systems for commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential projects, from schematic design through construction administration
Perform structural analysis and calculations for steel, concrete, masonry, and wood structures, ensuring compliance with building codes and engineering standards
Develop practical, economical structural solutions that meet project objectives
Coordinate your designs with architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, civil, and geotechnical disciplines
Review specifications, architectural drawings, and field conditions to build complete structural designs
Direct CAD and Revit designers as they prepare construction documents and structural drawings in AutoCAD and Revit
Check construction documents for quality, accuracy, and completeness before they reach the client
Join planning meetings, design reviews, and coordination meetings with clients, architects, contractors, and stakeholders
Conduct site visits, field observations, and construction inspections to confirm the work matches design intent
Respond to RFIs and review shop drawings during construction
Manage multiple projects at once while keeping schedules, budgets, and quality on track
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Structural Engineering
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification
Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred, or the ability to obtain licensure within a reasonable timeframe
At least 3 years of structural engineering experience in a consulting environment preferred
Strong knowledge of building codes, design standards, and industry best practices
Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work professionally with clients and project teams
Preferred experience and skills:
Software: RAM Structural System, RAM Steel, ENERCALC, STAAD.Pro, AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit, Microsoft Office Suite
Structural analysis and design of steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and wood structures
Working directly with clients, architects, and contractors through every project phase
