Role Description The Structural Engineer – Wood Design Experience Required will be responsible for designing and analyzing wood structures for residential and commercial projects in Los Angeles, CA. This full-time, on-site role includes performing structural calculations, developing structural models, and conducting detailed structural analysis to ensure safety, code compliance, and efficiency. Day-to-day tasks involve preparing design documents, collaborating with architects and other engineers, reviewing construction drawings, and providing technical support during permitting and construction. The role also includes using CAD tools to produce and revise plans, coordinating with project stakeholders, and contributing to continuous improvement of design standards and processes.

Qualifications

Strong foundation in Structural Engineering and Civil Engineering, with demonstrated experience in wood design.

Proficiency in Structural Analysis and performing detailed structural Calculations for wood-framed buildings.
\n
Hands-on experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software for structural drawings and detailing.
\n
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related field.
\n
Knowledge of relevant building codes, standards, and seismic design requirements, especially for California.
\n
Ability to work on-site in Los Angeles, CA, and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
\n
Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and capability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
\n
Professional Engineer (PE) licensure or progress toward licensure is highly beneficial.
