This role combines technical leadership, team development, and production oversight to ensure projects meet the highest standards for quality, performance, and constructability.We take pride in delivering work that is efficient, resilient, and built to last. And we do it through strong collaboration, shared expertise, and a commitment to continuous improvement.Team ResponsibilitiesLead and oversee a team of structural engineers and technicians across multiple projects, ensuring work is well planned, coordinated, and aligned with project goals and deadlinesPlan, assign, and manage team workload and production efforts, translating project requirements into clear work plans aligned with scope, schedule, and staffing capacityProvide technical leadership in the design and analysis of structural systems, guiding decision-making and resolving complex engineering challengesOversee the development and coordination of structural deliverables, including drawings, specifications, and calculations, ensuring accuracy, constructability, and completenessServe as a subject matter expert in structural systems, codes, and materials, supporting multidisciplinary coordination and informed project decisionsDrive the implementation and continuous improvement of structural standards, tools, and processes to enhance quality, efficiency, and consistencySupervisory ResponsibilitiesLead, coach, and develop team members through mentorship, feedback, and formal performance evaluations, supporting both technical growth and career developmentMonitor team performance, workload, and utilization, proactively identifying risks, gaps, or inefficiencies and communicating with leadershipSupport staffing and workforce planning, including recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding to build and sustain a strong teamEnsure accountability across the team by setting clear expectations, tracking progress, and addressing performance or delivery challengesAlign team effort with project scope, schedule, and budget, contributing to planning, forecasting, and overall project successFoster a culture of collaboration, communication, and continuous improvement while reinforcing QA/QC standards and the professional standard of careRequired SkillsAbility to lead technical discussions and present structural design solutions to clients, consultants, and regulatory authoritiesStrong collaboration with Project Managers and multi-disciplinary teams to align design, scope, schedule, and budget expectationsDemonstrated ability to lead structural design efforts across all phases, including analysis, documentation, and construction administrationAdvanced expertise in structural systems design, codes, and materials, with the ability to resolve complex technical and constructability challengesStrong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlinesProficiency in structural analysis and modeling tools such as RISA-3D, RISA Floor, or ADAPT, along with Revit and Microsoft Office SuiteEducation and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or Architectural Engineering with Structural focus) from an ABET-accredited program; Master's degree preferredMinimum of 7 years of progressive structural engineering experience, including leadership and project delivery responsibilitiesAt FSB, we're focused on delivering work that performs, lasts, and makes an impact.
