M.C. Dean’s “Modular Mission Critical” Division is looking for a Manager of Structural Engineering to mentor younger Structural Engineers and work alongside them on Structural Engineering for Modular Equipment for the Data Center Industries – This includes prefabricated modular electrical buildings, electrical rooms, power delivery modules and more. The right candidate will be able to mentor and lead a team as this $1Billion+ division continues to grow for the company.

Position: Structural Engineering Manager (They are also looking for Sr. Structural Engineer level candidates that will work under this person as well.)
Location: Ideally located in Tyson’s VA (Washington, D.C. Area) or in Ruther Glen, VA (30 minutes north of Richmond, 1.5 hours south of D.C.)
Reports to: The Director of Modular Design, or the Director of Product, working closely with both.
Compensation: Greatly Depends on experience 120-170k base salary.
Key Responsibilities

Mentor younger Structural Engineers (There are currently two on the team, and more will be hired after the manager is brought onboard).
Oversee structural engineering work related to prefabricated modular equipment used in mission critical/data center facilities.
Design structural systems supporting complex electrical and mechanical modules, including E-houses, mechanical skids, and packaged systems
Perform structural analysis for static, dynamic, seismic, wind, vibration, lifting, and transportation loads
Design steel and reinforced concrete frames, bases, foundations, and anchorage systems
Develop and review structural calculations, drawings, and specifications
Coordinate with electrical and mechanical engineers to ensure structural compatibility
Support modularization strategies including shop fabrication, transport, lifting, and installation
Review vendor drawings and equipment data for structural impacts
Support fabrication, installation, and commissioning activities

Qualifications

P.E.
Leadership and the ability to grow and mentor a team.
Minimum of 5+ Years of Structural Engineering Experience
Preferred - Experience designing structures supporting electrical and mechanical equipment
Proficiency with structural analysis software (SAP2000, RAM, IDEA, StatiCa, Tedds, Mathcad)
