Mead & Hunt, an award-winning national architecture and engineering firm, has continued to exceed our strategic growth initiatives, creating opportunities for our current and prospective team members. As a result, a full-time position is available for a Project Manager within our Structural Department of our Architecture and Building Engineering Group at our office located in Green Bay, WI. This candidate would lead project teams focused on delivering project management and structural services for the following project types throughout the nation. These project types include higher education, commercial, industrial, military, vertical airport-related projects such as airport terminals, snow removal equipment storage facilities, support buildings, readiness centers, maintenance, hangars, fire stations, and other projects as needed.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist with preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules,
- permits, and designs for projects.
- Leading interdisciplinary in-house and sub-consultant team members.
- Managing federal, military, judicial, airport, and other projects for budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Building and maintaining client relationships to secure future work.
- Developing proposals and monitoring scopes, fees, schedules, budgets, contracts, and subcontracts.
- Providing project quality control.
- Draft contract agreements and probable construction cost estimates for projects for review by
- Department Manager.
- Delivering presentations to clients and partners.
- Developing deliverables for projects, including drawings and specifications.
- Scheduling and facilitating team and client meetings.
- Developing and delivering presentations to clients, partners, and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs).
A valid driver's license and travel will be required (potentially up to 25% of the time).
The successful candidate must have all the following:
- A bachelor's degree in civil engineering, architectural engineering with structural focus, structural engineering, or other related field from an accredited college or university.
- At least 5 years of relevant project experience with at least 2 years of project management.
OR
- If no degree, must have at least 9 years of relevant structural project experience with at least 2 years of project management.
The ideal candidate will have any/all the following:
- Experience managing projects with the State of Wisconsin as the client
- Experience producing structural calculations, plans and specifications with the State of Wisconsin as the client
- Experience managing medium to large projects
- Experience working on and/or managing structural projects
- Experience developing new clients and maintaining relationships with current clients
- Experience developing proposals including scope and fee
- Experience with quality control
- Experience mentoring less experienced staff
- Experience or familiarity with generative AI-driven tools, platforms, or systems (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) to enhance productivity, automate tasks, and reduce errors.
