We are seeking a Structural Estimator to support our estimating team with a primary focus on structural systems including concrete, reinforcing steel, and structural steel. This role plays a critical part in developing accurate competitive estimates and supporting successful project delivery.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review structural drawings, specifications, geotechnical reports, and bid documents to define scope, quantities, assumptions, and constructability considerations.
  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for foundations, cast-in-place concrete, reinforcing steel, structural steel, embeds, anchors, and associated structural components.
  • Identify scope gaps, design inconsistencies, and risk within structural drawings and specifications.
  • Develop accurate structural cost estimates including labor, materials, equipment, forming systems, shoring, and erection means and methods.
  • Solicit, analyze, and level subcontractor and supplier proposals for concrete, rebar, steel fabrication, and erection to ensure scope completeness and pricing accuracy.
  • Prepare and manage structural RFIs, incorporate addenda and revisions into estimates, and support bid submissions with clear scope narratives and assumptions.
  • Collaborate with senior estimators, project managers, and field leadership to support buyout, value engineering, change orders, and smooth transition from estimate to execution.

Qualifications

  • 3-7 years of commercial construction estimating experience with a focus on structural systems.
  • Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience developing estimates for mid- to large-scale commercial projects valued between $12-$50 million.
  • Experience using Procore, Bluebeam, and other construction-related software platforms for estimating purposes.
  • Proven ability to lead complex proposals and manage subcontractor bids.
  • Ability to interpret structural drawings, specifications, and technical documents.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and solution-focused approach to estimating.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Strong understanding of concrete reinforcing steel, structural steel, and related construction methods.
  • Proficiency with digital takeoff and estimating software preferred.
  • Solid communication, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with healthcare and other complex commercial construction projects preferred.
