Morning begins with a stack of drawings and a clear goal: turn raw steel into precise, durable assemblies. You study blueprints, lay out components, verify every measurement, and choose the right welding approach. By mid-day, parts are aligned and tacked, welds are run cleanly, and joints are inspected for integrity. Before clocking out, you tidy your station, service your gear, and sync with teammates so tomorrow runs even smoother.
What You’ll Do
- Translate blueprints, drawings, and specs into accurate layouts and fits.
- Perform welding and fitting operations using appropriate techniques, including flux-cored arc welding.
- Build and assemble metal parts and structures to exact project requirements.
- Verify weld quality through inspection and tests to meet safety and quality expectations.
- Keep tools and equipment in reliable condition with routine upkeep.
- Coordinate with your crew to hit milestones and maintain efficient flow.
- Champion safety practices and sustain a clean, orderly workspace.
What You Bring
- High school diploma or GED; vocational training in welding/fabrication is a plus.
- Hands-on experience as a welder/fitter or closely related role.
- Strong grasp of welding processes and materials.
- Confidence reading and applying technical documents and prints.
- Sharp attention to detail and practical problem-solving.
- Effective communicator and dependable team player.
- Welding certifications (AWS, ASME) preferred, not required.
