Structural Plate & Frame Welder/Fabricator
Step into a brand-new custom fabrication facility in Harrisburg and help build the Pacific Northwest. At NW Industrial Staffing, we’re hiring a seasoned welder/fabricator to join a shop focused on structural work for construction projects of every size across the PNW.
A day in the role
You start your shift reviewing complex drawings, tracing weld symbols, and planning your sequence. You fit and tack structural components, check your setup with precision measuring tools, and lay down consistent MIG/flux-cored beads in .035–.052 wire on mild steel—then switch to aluminum or stainless as the project demands. With overhead cranes and forklifts, you move assemblies safely into position. Tight tolerances and quality checks keep your work on spec; your final verification confirms conformance before the next piece rolls in.
What you’ll bring
- 3+ years of welding and fabrication experience in a shop environment.
- Advanced blueprint/schematic interpretation, including weld symbols.
- Precision fabrication skills: cutting, shaping, and fitting with standard fab machinery and tools; rigorous QC and verification to specifications.
- Proficiency welding MIG/flux-cored (.035–.052) on mild steel; ability to weld aluminum and stainless as needed.
- Familiarity with overhead cranes and forklifts for safe material handling.
- AWS D1.1 preferred (unlimited thickness) with strong 4G position capability.
- Physical readiness to stand, stoop, bend, push, and pull through 8–10 hour shifts; able to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Reliable attendance, positive attitude, and solid work ethic.
