The purpose of this role is to support Teichert Solar's Design/Build group by assisting to produce accurate, code-compliant shop and erection drawings for structural steel and miscellaneous fabrication. This role works closely with project engineers and fabrication shops to translate structural designs into detailing that supports safe, efficient, and profitable construction projects.
Focus & Scope
Essential duties and responsibilities, i.e. those which are basic, necessary, and an integral part of the job, are indicated below:
Detailing & Drafting
Prepare shop drawings, erection drawings, and bills of material (BOM) for structural steel and miscellaneous metals using detailing software (e.g. Tekla Structures, SDS/2, AutoCAD).
Interpret architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and connection design criteria per AISC and AWS standards.
Verify dimensions, connections, and material specifications before submittal.
Perform quality checks, including self-checks and peer review, before submitting for approval.
Coordination & Schedule
Coordinate with Project Engineers (PEs) to resolve design conflicts and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) accurately and on time.
Collaborate with fabrications shops to ensure drawings support efficient, accurate production.
Track project timelines and deliver drawings on schedule, meeting customer expectations.
Support construction and project schedule goals.
Documentation
Maintain project logs, files, records, and reports.
Professionalism & Company Values
Represent Teichert professionally and courteously with external customers and the community.
Cooperate with other disciplines across company lines to make the best use of resources.
Stay current on industry trends, including new detailing software, techniques, and connection standards.

HOURLY BASE SALARY RANGE:
$32.46/hr - $45.44/hr
The range displayed reflects the range the company reasonable expects to pay for the position. The actual base salary is subject to variation due to the role, level, geographic location, relevant education, training, or experience, among other factors.
