A Day (or Night) in the Role
On shift, you’ll study detailed blueprints, lay out members, and perform accurate fit-up before welding. You’ll cut, assemble, and tack with care, then run clean passes while controlling heat and distortion. Throughout, you’ll check your own work to ensure it meets spec—because quality is your signature.
Core Responsibilities
- Interpret and work from blueprints to fabricate and fit structural steel components
- Cut, assemble, and tack materials to tight tolerances prior to final welds
- Perform welds and inspect results to prevent distortion and defects
What You Bring
- Hands-on structural steel experience
- Confident blueprint reading and proficiency with fabrication/welding tools
- Meticulous attention to detail and a craftsmanship mindset
Compensation
- Fitters: $22–$30/hr (based on experience)
- Welders: $26–$32/hr (based on experience)
Shifts
- Day: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
- Night: 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM
