Structural Steel Fabricator

The Tarrier Steel Company has been in operation for over 100 years as a structural steel fabricator in Columbus, OH. We fabricate the steel that builds America, and we're looking for a fabricator who wants to be part of that legacy.

Shifts: 40 hours + 9 hours overtime per week is typical

• 1st Shift: 5:30am – 4:00pm, Monday–Thursday, 3:00pm Friday
• 2nd Shift: 4:00pm – 2:30am, Monday–Thursday, 1:30am Friday

What You'll Do

• Read shop drawings to lay out and fit beams, columns, braces, and connection material
• Measure, lay out, and mark accurately using tapes, squares, levels, and other tools
• Fit and tack weld parts in position for final welding
• Thermal cut, drill, and grind as needed
• Keep a clean, organized, safe work area
• Safely operate overhead cranes, torches, grinders, and mag drills
• Verify piece marks, heat numbers, orientation, and dimensions before releasing to welding
• Flag drawing or material problems to your supervisor

• Fabrication experience
• Ability to read a tape measure accurately and willingness to learn shop drawings
• Willingness to learn and take direction
• Dependable, safety-minded, and proud of quality work

Good to Know

• This is a shop job: you'll be on your feet fitting beams, columns and other assemblies
• Tarrier Steel is a drug-free workplace. Candidates must pass a pre-hire drug screen before starting
