You clock in before sunrise, 5:00 AM sharp. By 5:15, your hood is down and your first Flux-Cored pass is running hot across heavy plate. You’ll move between fixtures, overhead cranes, and large weldments, reading WPSs and shop drawings to guide your work. Throughout the 10-hour shift, you’ll switch between FCAW as your primary process and GMAW/MIG, SAW, or SMAW as needed—all to AWS D1.1 requirements. You’ll prep joints, grind, gouge, and clean, then inspect your work to confirm it meets strict structural standards for bridges and industrial projects.
