Structural Steel Fitter–Welder, FCAW (WABO Track)

Role Snapshot

Join our team as a contract-to-hire Structural Steel Fitter–Welder. You’ll bring precision blueprint interpretation to life, fitting and welding components to exact specs with FCAW while upholding rigorous quality and safety standards.

Day in the Life

• Review blueprints and work orders, planning accurate fits and weld sequences.
• Measure, cut, and fit structural steel to tight tolerances.
• Perform FCAW welding aligned with industry and WABO standards.
• Inspect welds for quality and compliance; address any variances immediately.
• Operate welding, cutting, and related shop tools safely and efficiently.
• Follow OSHA safety protocols and site procedures at all times.
• Collaborate with teammates to meet production schedules and project deadlines.
• Maintain welding equipment to ensure reliable performance.

What You Bring

• WABO certification in FCAW preferred; if you don’t have it, you’ll have the opportunity to complete certification during hiring.
• 2+ years of structural steel fitting/welding experience preferred.
• Strong blueprint reading and technical welding skills.
• Ability to lift heavy materials and work in a variety of positions.
• Detail-oriented with a safety-first mindset.

Compensation, Schedule, and Location

• Compensation: $30 - $38/hr, DOE
• Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 630 am - 4:30 pm, OR Monday - Thursday, 4:30 pm - 3 am, OT as needed
• Location: Orting, WA
