Structural Steel Inside Sales Consultant

You start the morning reviewing your pipeline. A national account is awaiting a bid revision, a local contractor needs a rush delivery on beams, and an engineering firm has requested pricing alternatives. By 10 a.m., you’ve connected with decision makers, clarified specs, and prepared updated quotes—all while keeping operations in the loop so deliveries land on time. By afternoon, you’re tracking projects from bid to close, following up on proposals, and negotiating within approved pricing to win the work. You wrap the day by reconciling your notes, updating the CRM, and checking in on receivables for a smooth handoff to billing.
What you’ll own
- Drive growth with proactive outreach to both national and local accounts.
- Prospect and qualify new opportunities through outbound calls and timely follow-ups.
- Build and deliver quotes, bids, and proposals; negotiate pricing within company guidelines.
- Manage project tracking from bid stage through completion to ensure a successful close.
- Advise customers on structural steel and construction material options; coordinate with operations to meet delivery timelines.
- Support accounts receivable and maintain accurate, organized sales records.
What you bring
- 2+ years in inside sales (construction or steel industry background preferred).
- Clear, confident communication and solid negotiation skills.
- Proven ability to juggle multiple accounts while hitting sales targets.
- Microsoft Office proficiency; CRM experience is a plus.
Compensation & benefits
Target total earnings from $75,000 to $90,000 including commission, depending on experience and performance.
