Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced Structural Steel Quality Control Inspector to inspect fabricated steel components and help maintain quality throughout the production process. Experienced senior-level structural steel fitters or fabricators may also be considered.
Responsibilities
Inspect fabricated structural steel throughout the production process.
Identify and document nonconformances in accordance with AWS D1.1/D1.5 requirements.
Compare materials and finished components against shop drawings and specifications.
Perform in-process and final inspections, including dimensional layout and part placement.
Assist with AISC QC audits.
Work with production teams to identify, document, and resolve quality concerns.
Support quality improvement activities and process improvements.
Qualifications
3–5 years of experience in structural steel layout and fabrication.
Ability to read and interpret fabrication and construction drawings.
Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication and quality standards.
D1.1 and/or D1.5 welding certification preferred.
Strong attention to detail and ability to identify quality issues accurately.
