Structural Steel Welder - Cocoa, FL (Fabrication Shop)We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Structural Steel Welder to join our fabrication team at our Cocoa, Florida fabrication shop. Please note that this position is based in Cocoa, FL, not Orlando. Candidates must be willing and able to commute to the Cocoa facility.This role involves welding structural steel components for building structures and miscellaneous items based on specified drawings and weld symbols. The successful candidate must have experience with vertical and overhead welding and a commitment to producing high-quality welds while following all safety protocols.Key Responsibilities:Weld structural steel parts according to drawings and marked-up weld symbols.Obtain and maintain required welding qualifications in accordance with AWS standards.Conduct visual inspections of welded components to verify quality and accuracy.Safely operate overhead cranes, air arc tools, grinders, magnetic drills, and other welding-related equipment.Communicate with team members to ensure quality control and completeness of work.Follow all safety procedures and company policies.Maintain a clean and organized work area, including trash and scrap removal.Perform routine equipment maintenance as needed.General Requirements:Minimum of 2 years of experience in steel fabrication.Experience operating overhead cranes.2G/3G welding certification preferred.High school diploma or GED required.Must pass a welding test and meet applicable AWS qualification standards.If you have structural steel welding experience and are committed to quality and safety, we encourage you to apply.Work Location: Cocoa, Florida - On-site at our fabrication shop.Equal Opportunity Employer: All qualified applicants are encouraged to apply.Met-Con, Inc. is a Drug Free Workplace where post-offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.Met-Con, Inc. is a participant in the Federal E-Verify Program.
