Structural Truss Assembly Technician

Step onto a production line where every cut, plate, and label contributes to a finished truss that supports real homes and buildings. Here’s what a typical day looks like and what you’ll need to thrive.

A day on the line

  • Prepare for assembly by picking, stacking, and sorting truss parts according to work orders.
  • Follow paperwork and layout instructions to ensure the right materials are used in the correct location and sequence.
  • Affix metal connector plates by hammering them into place as needed.
  • Neatly stack lumber and finished trusses; band product and label with the appropriate job code for delivery.
  • Keep the work area clear of debris and miscellaneous equipment; sweep down at the end of the shift.
  • Report any unsafe conditions or practices to your lead or supervisor.
  • Work safely at all times by following OSHA requirements and company policies/procedures.
  • Demonstrate regular, predictable attendance during assigned hours.

Schedule

6:00 AM to 2:30 PM Monday through Friday

Work environment

  • Outdoor working conditions
  • Exposure to excessive noise
  • Mandatory overtime as required (includes Saturday’s and Sunday’s)

Physical expectations

  • Lift 75–100 lbs throughout the shift
  • Wear personal protective equipment

What you bring

  • 6 months of production experience preferred
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred; carpentry or wood shop classes are a plus
  • Ability to listen, take direction, and learn quickly
  • Read, write, and understand basic English
  • Basic math skills and tape measure reading
  • Comfort using a hammer, nail gun, staple gun, and power saws
  • Team-oriented mindset and consistent safe work practices
