Position Overview
Stand-By Personnel is seeking an experienced Structural Welder to join a growing fabrication team in West Tulsa. This position is responsible for welding structural steel components used in industrial equipment while maintaining strict quality, safety, and production standards.
The ideal candidate has structural welding experience, can interpret fabrication drawings, and consistently produces high-quality welds in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Required Experience & Skills
Ability to successfully pass a 3G MIG & Flux Core weld test
Previous structural welding experience preferred
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen
Comfortable working in a team-oriented manufacturing environment
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Perform MIG (GMAW) and Flux Core (FCAW) welding on structural steel components
Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and welding specifications
Produce welds that meet company quality standards and production requirements
Inspect completed welds for quality, penetration, and workmanship
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Follow all company welding procedures, safety policies, and quality standards
Work collaboratively with production personnel to meet manufacturing schedules
Assist with additional fabrication duties as assigned
Weld Test Requirements
Candidates must successfully complete:
3G MIG Weld Test
3G Flux Core Weld Test
Preferred Qualifications
Previous heavy industrial or structural steel fabrication experience
Experience working with industrial equipment or skid fabrication
Knowledge of AWS structural welding standards
Mechanical aptitude and fabrication experience
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, and repetitive physical activity throughout the shift
Ability to safely operate welding equipment while wearing required PPE
Comfortable working around heavy steel, welding fumes, sparks, heat, and industrial machinery
Work Environment
Heavy industrial manufacturing and fabrication facility
Fast-paced production environment focused on safety, quality, and productivity
Exposure to welding equipment, heavy steel materials, fabrication machinery, and industrial shop conditions
