Structural Welder | FCAW | Structural Steel Fabrication

Built to last starts with the people behind the weld.

We’re looking for an experienced Structural Welder who takes pride in precision, consistency, and craftsmanship. This is an opportunity to join a fabrication team working on large-scale structural steel projects that directly impact commercial buildings, industrial facilities, bridges, and critical infrastructure.

If you’re confident running FCAW, can read prints without hesitation, and understand the difference between “good enough” and structurally sound, we want to talk with you.

Why Work With Us

  • Full-time, long-term opportunity with steady project flow
  • Work on large-scale structural steel fabrication projects
  • Team environment built around quality, safety, and craftsmanship
  • Opportunity to work alongside highly skilled fabrication professionals
  • Fast-paced shop where experience and work ethic are valued
  • Diverse projects that keep the work challenging and rewarding

Position Details

  • Full-Time
  • Structural Steel Fabrication
  • Primary Welding Process: FCAW
  • Experience Required: 4-8 Years

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Perform Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) on structural steel components including beams, columns, trusses, and plate assemblies
  • Execute welds in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions
  • Weld carbon steel, low-alloy steel, and structural materials of varying thicknesses
  • Maintain high-quality weld standards including proper penetration, fusion, and bead appearance
  • Perform tack welding to align and secure assemblies prior to final welds
  • Conduct visual inspections to identify weld defects including cracks, porosity, or incomplete fusion
  • Complete minor weld repairs and modifications as needed
  • Read and interpret blueprints, structural drawings, welding symbols, and fabrication specifications
  • Follow Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and maintain proper welding parameters
  • Work closely with fitters, fabricators, and shop leadership to maintain production flow
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safety-focused work areas

What You Bring

  • 4-8 years of structural welding experience
  • Strong FCAW experience in a structural steel fabrication environment
  • Ability to read and interpret structural blueprints and welding symbols
  • Understanding of welding procedures, fit-up tolerances, and fabrication standards
  • Experience welding in multiple positions
  • Strong attention to detail and weld quality
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to overall team productivity
  • Commitment to safety, consistency, and craftsmanship

Physical & Work Environment

  • Ability to work in active fabrication shop environments
  • Comfortable working around heavy equipment, noise, heat, and steel fabrication operations
  • Ability to lift and move materials as needed
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work for extended periods

This is the kind of role where skill shows up in every bead, every fit-up, and every finished piece leaving the shop floor. If you take pride in your craft and want to be part of projects built to stand for decades, we’d love to connect.

Talk soon,
Mindi
