Structural Welder/Fabricator

Weld Meister L.L.C. is seeking a Structural Welder/Fabricator to support the fabrication, installation, and erection of high‑quality structural steel components in a fast‑paced onsite environment.

Position Summary

The Structural Welder/Fabricator will perform welding and fabrication tasks to produce structural metal components according to engineering drawings and job specifications. This role focuses on producing work that meets quality standards for fit-up, weld integrity, and dimensional accuracy while maintaining a safe and efficient workflow.

The ideal candidate is skilled in structural welding practices, dependable in meeting production timelines, and committed to continuous improvement in workmanship and shop processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and welding instructions to complete assigned fabrication and assembly tasks.

• Prepare materials for welding, including measuring, cutting, fitting, and aligning components to meet required tolerances.

• Perform structural welding and finishing work to ensure strong, consistent weld quality and proper joint preparation.

• Inspect work for defects and dimensional accuracy, correcting issues as needed before completion.

• Follow shop safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.

Required Qualifications

• Must be able to pass an AWS D1.1 structural welding qualification test (3G and 4G plate) SMAW and FCAW

• Proficient in SMAW and FCAW processes used in structural steel applications.

• Ability to read drawings and apply specifications for fit-up, welding procedures, and dimensional requirements.

• Demonstrated skill in using standard fabrication tools and safely handling materials.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

• Ability to work effectively onsite in a physically active role and follow safety standards consistently.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification or demonstrated proficiency in structural welding processes.

• Experience working with structural steel and related assemblies.

• Familiarity with basic inspection practices to verify weld quality and dimensional accuracy.

• Comfortable working in a production setting with changing priorities and established timelines.
