Position Overview
Stand-By Personnel is seeking an experienced Structural Welder for a manufacturing opportunity in Claremore. This position focuses on the fabrication, assembly, and repair of structural components used in air cooler products and related industrial equipment.
The ideal candidate has previous structural welding experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, can confidently read blueprints and AWS weld symbols, and is comfortable fitting, tacking, and welding fabricated assemblies to specified tolerances.
Candidates must be prepared to complete a welding skills assessment or certification test as required.
Required Experience & Skills
Previous structural welding experience required
Manufacturing or industrial welding experience preferred
Strong blueprint-reading skills
Familiarity with AWS weld symbols
Experience fitting and assembling structural components
Ability to tack and weld assemblies to specified tolerances
Experience with MIG, TIG, and/or Stick welding processes
Strong mechanical aptitude
Ability to accurately use measuring and fabrication tools
Strong attention to detail and weld quality
Ability to work independently and as part of a fabrication team
Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
Ability to work overtime when required
Strong commitment to workplace and welding safety
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Perform structural welding on fabricated components
Weld carbon steel and other applicable metals
Perform MIG, TIG, and/or Stick welding according to production requirements
Read and interpret fabrication blueprints
Interpret welding symbols and drawings
Measure and lay out components for fabrication
Fit structural components according to specifications
Position and align materials before welding
Use applicable jigs and fixtures during fit-up
Tack components into position
Complete final welds according to applicable requirements
Inspect completed welds for visible defects and workmanship
Verify structural integrity and dimensional accuracy
Prepare materials using cutting and grinding equipment
Finish welded components as required
Maintain clean and organized work areas
Work with supervisors and fabrication personnel to meet production schedules
Follow all company safety and PPE requirements
Perform additional welding and fabrication duties as assigned

Candidates should be comfortable working from drawings and specifications rather than relying solely on verbal instruction.
Welding Processes
Depending on production requirements, candidates may work with:
MIG / GMAW
TIG / GTAW
Stick / SMAW
Tack welding
Structural fabrication processes
Experience with multiple welding processes is valuable.
Blueprint & Weld Symbol Requirements
Candidates should be able to:
Read structural fabrication blueprints
Interpret fabrication drawings
Understand AWS weld symbols
Identify required dimensions and tolerances
Determine component positioning and orientation
Follow applicable welding specifications
Verify assemblies against drawings
Identify discrepancies before final welding
Fitting & Assembly Responsibilities
Measure and position structural components
Align materials according to specifications
Use jigs and fixtures when required
Verify proper fit-up
Tack components into position
Check dimensions before final welding
Maintain specified tolerances
Correct fit-up concerns when necessary
Prepare completed assemblies for final inspection or the next production stage
Material Preparation & Finishing
Candidates may use:
Cutting equipment
Grinders
Tape measures
Squares
Basic hand tools
Welding equipment
Jigs and fixtures
Other fabrication tools
Responsibilities may include cutting, grinding, cleaning, preparing, and finishing materials before and after welding.
Quality Responsibilities
Inspect completed welds for visible defects
Verify welds meet applicable specifications
Maintain structural integrity and consistent workmanship
Verify dimensional accuracy
Identify components requiring repair
Correct welding or fit-up concerns when required
Maintain attention to quality throughout production
Help prevent nonconforming assemblies from advancing through production
Welding Assessment
Candidates must be able to successfully complete a welding skills assessment or certification test when required.
The specific test requirements will be communicated during the hiring process.

Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift
Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, lifting, carrying, positioning, pushing, and pulling
Ability to lift and handle moderate to heavy materials as required
Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination required for welding and fitting
Ability to safely operate welding, cutting, and grinding equipment
Comfortable performing physically demanding fabrication work
Ability to safely work around fabricated steel, welding equipment, sparks, heat, and industrial machinery
Ability to wear all required PPE
Work Environment
Industrial manufacturing and fabrication environment
Regular work around structural components, welding equipment, grinders, cutting tools, and fabrication machinery
Hands-on position involving fitting, welding, assembly, inspection, and material preparation
Stable MondayFriday | 5:00 AM 3:30 PM schedule
Overtime may be required based on production needs
Strong emphasis on safety, structural integrity, quality workmanship, and dependable attendance
