Structured Cabling Installer I (BICSI INST1)

Position Summary
Responsible for installing horizontal cabling and basic infrastructure components according to company standards, TIA guidelines, and BICSI best practices with limited supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Work mostly independently on basic tasks
• Install Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6A cabling
• Terminate jacks, plates, patch panels
• Install J-hooks, supports, and cable tray
• Read basic drawings, cable schedules & pull sheets
• Understand TIA standards conceptually
• Assist with basic testing and documentation
• Maintain labeling accuracy and log pathways
• Assist with test setup
• Mentor helpers when assigned

Required Qualifications

• 1+ year field experience
• Knowledge of basic installation methods
• Able to interpret simple drawings

Preferred Qualifications

• BICSI Installer 1 (INST1)
• OSHA-30
• Manufacturer copper training
