Structured Cabling Technician

Our client is an established Houston-based technology integrator with more than 20 years of experience and offices throughout Texas. Their teams have contributed to some of the Houston area's largest and most recognizable commercial construction projects.

Their capabilities include structured cabling, voice/data, audio visual, access control, security, surveillance, system design, and managed services. The company has also earned multiple business and construction-industry awards, recognizing its growth and safety performance.

What You ll Be Doing
Install, pull, route, dress, and label Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, and fiber optic cabling
Terminate workstation outlets, data jacks, patch panels, and other structured cabling hardware
Install J-hooks, cable tray, ladder rack, racks, and other pathway/support systems
Read blueprints, floor plans, cable schedules, and construction drawings to determine cable routes and installation requirements
Perform cable testing, troubleshooting, and basic certification using appropriate test equipment
Identify and correct installation issues while maintaining quality workmanship
Maintain clean, organized cable pathways, telecommunications rooms, and work areas
Coordinate with lead technicians, project managers, and other construction trades
Work on commercial construction projects throughout the Greater Houston area

What You Bring to the Table
2+ years of commercial structured cabling experience preferred
Hands-on experience with Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, and fiber optic cabling
Experience pulling, dressing, labeling, terminating, testing, and troubleshooting cable
Ability to terminate workstation outlets and patch panels
Ability to read and follow blueprints and construction drawings
Familiarity with commercial cable pathways and support structures
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Construction certification required
Valid driver s license and reliable transportation
Strong work ethic and ability to take direction and work effectively with a team
Commitment to safe, organized, high-quality work
