Structured Cabling Technician

Our client is an established Texas contractor with a dedicated technology division supporting large-scale commercial construction projects. Their teams build and install the structured cabling infrastructure that keeps data centers, healthcare facilities, educational campuses, office buildings, and other commercial environments connected.

You ll be joining experienced professionals who value quality workmanship, clean installations, and organized systems built to perform.

What You ll Be Doing
Installing, routing, supporting, labeling, and professionally dressing CAT5e, CAT6, and CAT6A cabling.
Reading blueprints, floor plans, and telecommunications drawings to identify cable pathways and device locations.
Completing workstation installations, including keystone jacks, data outlets, faceplates, labeling, and testing.
Terminating patch panels and organizing network racks according to project specifications.
Building, organizing, and maintaining MDF and IDF telecommunications rooms.
Installing J-hooks, ladder rack, cable tray, and vertical and horizontal cable management.
Routing and dressing cable bundles for a clean, professional installation.
Testing completed cabling and identifying installation issues before project turnover.
Maintaining organized work areas and delivering workmanship that meets project and industry standards.

What You Bring to the Table
1+ years of commercial structured cabling experience.
Hands-on experience with CAT5e, CAT6, and/or CAT6A installations.
Experience terminating workstation outlets and patch panels.
Experience working in MDF and IDF telecommunications rooms.
Familiarity with TIA/EIA structured cabling standards.
Experience installing J-hooks, ladder rack, cable tray, and other pathway/support systems.
Ability to read or work from blueprints and telecommunications drawings.
Strong attention to cable management, labeling, organization, and installation quality.
Valid driver s license and reliable transportation.
