The Structures Maintenance Technician is assigned to support carpenters and pavements personnel with carpentry, concrete, and asphalt repair work in a variety of new and old construction. Members must have a basic knowledge of construction trades to assist in the recognition, identification and repair of each work order while complying with all federal & local safety, health, environmental directives, hazardous waste disposal and the proper use of chemical substances common with construction. Exhibits superior workmanship and focuses on the quality end product, addresses customer concerns in a prompt, professional and courteous manner.
Responsibilities:
Assists in the performance of a wide variety of carpentry related tasks, including new construction, remodeling, renovation and demolition.
Constructs, repairs, restores and installs structures such as floors, doors, walls, windows, stairways, furniture, cabinets, shelves, and roofs.
Builds forms, frames, ceilings and roofs with common materials to include lumber, plywood, wafer board, sheetrock, steel studs, foam board and cement board.
Install and finish sheetrock to include patching and repairing.
