The position is responsible for assisting with awarding and cash management activities including credit balance review, reconciliation, third-party agency funding and student account activities. This position requires highly technical knowledge of financial aid programs, VA benefits, Agency benefits, and procedures to independently assist campuses and other professionals over the phone and via electronic correspondence. The position requires analytical skills and the ability to work independently and with a sense of urgency. In addition, the position requires that all job responsibilities are completed accurately and compliantly in accordance with Title IV and VA regulations.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Complies with all Federal, State, accreditation and institutional policies and procedures.
Post all charges, receipts, funds and refunds to student accounts.
Ensure accuracy and integrity of student account balances.
Ensures all refunds are posted and processed by required due dates.
Performs credit balance review and schedules refunds accordingly.
Process timely adjustments to institution loans.
Review accuracy of VA Education Benefit payments and debt letter processing.
Ability to post VA or Agency refunds to account ledger.
Agency invoicing and collections.
Enforce corporate refund policy to ensure compliant with state and federal regulations.
Maintains knowledge of Title IV awarding and cash management rules and regulations.
Provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers
Other duties as assigned.
Prior knowledge of VA benefits/certifications is a MUST
Previous School Certifying Official and Enrollment Manager platform experience
Agency/ Third party invoicing processes.
Works with a sense of urgency and responsiveness to students and co-workers.
Demonstrate the willingness and ability to complete additional training opportunities as assigned by the Student Finance
Education, Experience, and Skillset
At least 3 year of experience in a financial aid department of an accredited college or university with direct responsibility for processing Title IV activities, VA programs and Agency funding preferred.
Associate's degree or comparable work experience required. Bachelor's degree with coursework in math, business, finance, auditing or accounting preferred.
Excellent customer service, oral and written communication and presentation skills.
Ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
Proficiency in MS Office, especially MS Excel
Ability to meet deadlines and execute multiple priorities
