Position Summary

Position Summary
The Student Front Desk Assistant supports daily operations at the UNM Children's Campus by providing welcoming customer service, assisting families and staff, and ensuring smooth front desk coverage during consistent opening and/or closing shifts. UNMCC is a fast-paced early childhood education setting with frequent interaction with families, children, and staff.

Preferred Schedules
We are seeking students available for consistent daily coverage, such as:
Opening: ~7:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
Closing: ~2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
(Monday-Friday preferred)
Key Responsibilities
Greet and assist families, visitors, and staff in a professional, friendly manner
Answer phones and direct inquiries appropriately
Monitor sign-in/out procedures and maintain visitor logs
Support communication between classrooms and administration
Perform light administrative tasks (filing, copying, data entry)
Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front desk area
Assist with opening and/or closing procedures as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Enrolled in a degree seeking program at UNM, Enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) at UNM for fall and spring semesters (Audit hours do not count), and if Work Study, you must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress.

Reliable with consistent availability for opening and/or closing shifts
Strong communication and customer service skills
Professional demeanor and ability to maintain confidentiality
Basic computer and office skills

Organized and able to multitask in a busy environment
