POSITION SUMMARY:

Provide support, monitoring, and training using relationships, proactive behavior strategies, behavior management techniques, intervention strategies, coping skills, and problem solving skills for students. This position will work in collaboration with administration, staff, students, and parents to ensure students are equipped with the necessary tools and strategies needed to be successful academically, socially, and emotionally to graduate from high school and be college/career ready.

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Serve as a student advocate, build relationships, and promote student achievement while promoting a positive school climate.

  2. Promote and support student attendance

  3. Assist in designing and implementing behavioral intervention systems

  4. Utilize restorative practices, conscious discipline, PBIS, and other proactive behavior supports with a focus on alternative to suspension strategies

  5. Support consultation with building teams including student observations and data collection

  6. Collect, organize, synthesize and present behavior data

  7. Communicate with interested parties regarding student behaviors and student behavior support plans.

  8. Support learning of new strategies through model teaching and coaching.

  9. Maintain data privacy, student files, and required district paperwork as it relates to individual student needs

  10. Other duties as assigned.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, LICENSE, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES):

Required:

  1. Bachelor's Degree in education, behavior sciences, social work, psychology, or related field OR equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience.

  2. Effective written and oral communication

  3. Experience working with challenging behavior

  4. Ability to travel between sites as needed.

  5. Ability to utilize technology to support day to day job functions.

  6. Prompt, regular, and reliable attendance.

  7. Crisis Prevention Intervention training.

  8. Demonstrates appreciation of diversity in all interactions and job functions.
