This role is designed to engage current students who are passionate about their college experience and eager to share it with prospective students, parents, and the community. As a Student Ambassador, you will represent Coconino Community College at various events, provide campus tours, and assist with campus engagement.

This is a part-time, 10-15 hours/week.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Student Life Events: Represent Student Life at on-campus events through the planning, preparation, set-up, execution, and clean-up of our Student Life signature events.
• Support Student Services: Collaborate with Student Services departments to help execute their programs and events. Be present as additional support as needed.
• Event Participation: Represent the college at recruitment events, open houses, college fairs, community events, and other CCC events.
• Outreach: Assist with outreach activities by providing information about the colleges programs, admissions process, and student services.
• Marketing Support: Contribute to social media campaigns, student testimonials, and other marketing materials to promote the college.
• Student Life Area Oversight: Assist with the organization, management, and cleaning of on-campus areas overseen by Student Life.
• Administrative Tasks: Assist with various administrative tasks related to recruitment and admissions, such as data entry, preparing information packets, and responding to inquiries.
• Peer Mentoring: Offer guidance and support to prospective and new students, sharing personal experiences and helping them navigate the transition to college life.

• Insight into student organizations, clubs, extracurricular activities, and campus events.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and events.
• Good written communication skills for responding to inquiries and contributing to marketing materials.
• Punctuality and reliability for scheduled events and shifts.
• Friendly, approachable demeanor with strong customer service skills.
• Understanding of student support services, such as academic advising, counseling, disability resources, and tutoring.
• Familiarity with the campus layout, including key buildings, facilities, and resources available to students.
• Understanding of Coconino Community Colleges history, mission, values, programs, and services.
• Confidence and clarity in speaking to large groups during presentations and tours.
• Attention to detail for administrative tasks and event coordination.
• Effective time management skills to balance ambassador duties with academic responsibilities.
• Ability to handle unexpected situations or questions during tours and events.
• Resourcefulness in finding information and solutions to prospective students concerns.
• Ability to work collaboratively with Student Development staff, other student ambassadors, and college faculty.
• Flexibility in adapting to team needs and supporting peers.
• Ability to adjust to different types of events, audiences, and communication platforms (e.g., in-person, virtual).
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new information and college updates.
• Ability to create an inclusive and welcoming environment for all visitors.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be a currently enrolled student at Coconino Community College.
• Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Friendly, approachable, and able to connect with diverse groups of people.
• Reliable and punctual, with a professional demeanor.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with the colleges programs, services, and campus layout.
• Prior work experience and / or transferable skills related to the position.
• Experience with CCC Student Clubs and Organizations.
• Participation in past CCC campus events and ceremonies.
• Experience in event planning and campus event operations.

Physical Demands

• Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
• Navigating various terrains and inclines on the college campus.
• Clear and audible speech for giving presentations and leading tours.
• Active listening skills to address questions and concerns from visitors.
• Occasional lifting and carrying of materials, such as informational brochures, event setups, and promotional items (up to 20 pounds).
• Ability to bend, reach, and perform minor physical tasks related to event setup and breakdown.
• Basic manual dexterity for handling materials, operating office equipment, and assisting with administrative tasks.
• Ability to conduct tours and participate in events outdoors, regardless of weather conditions, with appropriate attire.

Work Environment

Primary work environment is on the Coconino Community College Lone Tree campus, both indoors and outdoors. Frequent movement between various buildings and facilities, including classrooms, administrative offices, and student centers. Exposure to varying weather conditions, such as heat, cold, rain, and snow, with appropriate accommodation and attire. Traveling to different locations within the community and potentially to other regions for recruitment purposes.

Part-time employees working 20 hours or more per week for at least 20 weeks within the fiscal year (July 1-June 30) are eligible to participate in the Arizona State Retirement System and receive tuition waiver benefits.
