ORGANIZATION: Allegheny Children’s Initiative
DEPARTMENT: Student Assistance Program
POSITION: Student Assistance Program Liaison
LOCATION: The SAP Liaison travels throughout Allegheny County at assigned school buildings
SALARY: $37,000, paid out over 12-months for full benefits package

SHIFT: Full-Time, 40 hours per week, 44- weeks, paid out over 12 months for full benefits package
SCHEDULE: primarily 8 am-4pm, with flexibility to meet the needs of school districts, students and their families

 

Allegheny Children’s Initiative, a subsidiary of Partners For Quality Inc., is a non-profit organization that provides mental and behavioral health community-based services to children, adolescents and families throughout Allegheny and Washington Counties. Based in Pittsburgh’s South Side, we provide Intensive Behavioral Health Services, Service Coordination, Student Assistance, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, and Family Based Mental Health programs. ACI has earned certification from the Council On Accreditation. Responsibilities:

The SAP Liaison will be responsible for working with SAP Core Teams (school leaders and administrators) to assist students who are experiencing barriers to academic achievement. The SAP liaison will act as a consultant within their assigned school buildings to coordinate recommended services to identified students.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Complete all required Student Assistance Program training within mandated timeframes
  • Act as a consultant with the school district and the SAP Core Team (trained administrators, teachers, guidance counselors, and others within each school building)
  • Attend assigned SAP Core Team meetings, as scheduled, at least twice per month
  • Administer the SAP Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS) screening, Columbia Suicide Screening, and CRAFFT screening (as needed) to identified students
  • Implement and guide the development of the Student Plan that provides interventions and strategies to remove learning barriers and promotes student academic and personal success
  • Put the Student Plan in action by linking student to appropriate services, treatment providers or community resources and monitor follow through of the plan
  • Provide Postvention support services as needed
  • Be flexible and responsive to the needs of the school and students
  • Educate families around mental health and/or drug and alcohol issues and assist in accessing appropriate services. Support and empower the family in decision making for their child
  • Collect, report, and maintain data for required reporting
  • Co-facilitate SAP groups for students related to behavioral health

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, drug and alcohol addiction or education
  • Two (2) years paid experience working as a SAP liaison or in the behavioral health field
  • Valid Driver’s License, vehicle registration, insurance and inspection
  • Use of personal vehicle
  • Eligible for Act 33, 34 and FBI clearances
Minimum Compensation: USD $37,000.00/Yr. Maximum Compensation: USD $37,000.00/Yr.

Exceptional Adventures has more than 40 years of experience providing vacation opportunities, social events and monthly dances for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our recreational and travel programs are designed to support guests in a wide variety of activities. Organized trips include motor coach, flight, train and cruise packages which are offered year-round.

Milestone Centers supports individuals with behavioral health challenges and intellectual & developmental disabilities in communities throughout Western Pennsylvania. Our Agency oversees 20 residential settings, two outpatient offices, three adult training facilities, a prevocational enterprise program, a consumer drop-in center, habilitation services, and two Health Care Quality Units in Butler and Warren, which train professionals in 18 counties. Milestone Centers has earned certification from the Sanctuary Institute for providing trauma-informed care.

The Partners For Quality Foundation conducts fundraising for all organizational services and supports.  Partners For Quality Inc. receives operating funds through various sources, private gifts, grants and special events helping the agency go “above and beyond” basic needs. The Foundation’s goal is to build and strengthen PFQ’s support resources to supplement government dollars.
