    Department Overview

    This position supports the Campus Planning and Real Estate department (CPRE) a support unit within OHSU Central Services which provides the University comprehensive services: planning, development, space planning, and real estate services across four campuses and lease locations throughout the State of Oregon.

    Function/Duties of Position

    Work activities will support CPRE's three areas of focus space planning, real estate leases, and long-range planning. Primary duties include the following:

    • Participate in project meetings, document key issues and identify areas where additional research may add value to the department and completion of the Long-Range Development Plan.
    • Lead research assignments for the Long-Range Development Plan to inform recommendations, and/or space planning, campus planning and real estate policies and programs.
    • Visit campus sites to become familiar with the study areas and document conditions as needed.
    • Present information and findings to the project team, relevant stakeholders and/or committees.

    Required Qualifications

    Enrolled in or on vacation from or is otherwise registered in:

    • Undergraduate Program (minimum 6 credit hours), OR

    • Graduate Program (minimum 4.5 credit hours).

    Skills and Abilities

    • Strong written and verbal communication.

    • Prior experience working in an office setting and collaborating virtually.

    • Coursework or foundational knowledge in planning, land use, development, and management of the built environment through academic coursework, research, internships, or related experience.

    • Familiarity with planning, research, visualization, and business tools through coursework, projects, or professional experience.

    • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Current enrollment in undergraduate or graduate degree program in related fields, such as urban planning, architecture, business, or real estate studies.
    • Familiarity with concepts related to campus planning, real estate, land use, urban development, sustainability, infrastructure, or space utilization is preferred.
    • Demonstrated experience completing project deliverables with written and graphic components.
    • Exposure to tools such as ArcGIS, Tableau, Power BI, AI applications, AutoCAD, or similar platforms is preferred.

    Employment dates: October 2026-June 2027.

    This is a part-time non-OHSU student position, anticipated to average approximately 15-20 hours per week. Work schedules are flexible and will be coordinated with the supervisor to support both academic obligations and departmental needs.

    This position is a hybrid work schedule anticipating 85% remote and 15% in-person.

    OHSU will provide a laptop and other necessary equipment; the incumbent is responsible for maintaining a suitable remote workspace, including reliable internet access and an appropriate work surface and seating arrangement. Employees who wish to work on-site may reserve workspace on campus, subject to availability.

    The position requires extended periods of computer use, including working with data, documents, presentations, and virtual collaboration tools. The incumbent must be able to participate in virtual meetings and communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders in both remote and in-person settings.

    Occasional travel to OHSU campuses and other local sites within the Portland metropolitan area is required to conduct site visits, support project activities, attend meetings, and gain familiarity with campus facilities and operations. The incumbent must be able to independently travel to these locations as needed.

    Work is performed in both office and field environments and may require walking between buildings and campuses during site visits. Employees who commute to campus may purchase parking through OHSU, utilize a partially subsidized public transit pass, and may be eligible for incentives that support walking or bicycling to work in accordance with applicable OHSU programs and policies. May occasionally carry a laptop, project materials, or documents between work locations.
