Student Assistant
The Department of Criminal Justice and Social Work, under the College of Public Service, is looking for 4 student assistants to work with its Houston Endowment-funded Civic Engagement initiative. Student assistants will work closely with Dr. Fei Yang and Dr. Liza Barros-Lane to conduct criminal justice and civic engagement research and service activities. The position is ideal for those wishing to gain firsthand research and service experience in criminology, criminal justice, social justice and social change, and civic engagement.

Qualifications:
Required Attachments by Candidate: Resume, a writing sample from a criminal justice-related course, and a personal statement that states why you are interested in the position and why you think you are the best fit for the position. Zoom interviews and in-person interviews will be conducted in late summer/early fall, and the final decision will be announced before 8/31/2026.
